Building a Lasting Network of Leaders in the MENA Region

Following the 2011 uprisings in the MENA region, Menapolis saw the new challenges leading regional activists faced: the need to move from activism to advocacy, and the development of strong leadership and coherent political and economic reforms in order to forestall social crises.

Menapolis developed a series of leadership training workshops for policy makers and civil society groups from Tunisia and Syria, offering tools and knowledge for effective outreach and advocacy on the core issues of constitutional and political reform, and individual and civic rights. Ongoing mentorship continues to provide opportunities for participants to refine their strategies in promoting public engagement in the policy debates in their respective countries.
