In 2014, Menapolis produced a 30-minute documentary on the revolt of Maisa and Samar Saleh, two sister activists that were captured by the Syrian regime and ISIL respectively. The two had participated in the civil protests from the start of the Syrian revolution. Maisa was arrested by the Syrian authorities in Damascus under the charges of working against the regime and Samar in Aleppo’s province by ISIL as she was taking photographs to show the destruction of the city. Maisa was released while Samar wasn’t. The documentary tells their story missing Samar’s narration.
